"Liberdade" addresses, in a photographic study, São Paulo's neighborhood that received the most Japanese culture at the beginning of the 20th century and its intersection with São Paulo's downtown. People, cultures and the city merging into one image, overlapping and creating a network of stories, memories, signs and sensations. The project aims to portray Liberdade's neighborhood not in a documentary, stereotyped and touristic way, but discussing the nature of the technical image and the photographic medium as a language of artistic expression.
"Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see."
